Greetings in the Lord Jesus!

I praise the Lord for each and every intercessor who lifts Take A Stand! and my family up in prayer.

Today as I was driving up Interstate 5 through the Oregon mountains I was thinking how blessed we are to have so many folks who pray for us on a regular basis.

Often, we've sensed the battle in the spirit realm concerning the different facets of our ministry, in particular when I am on the road holding meetings. We know that witches and other occultists take it upon themselves to try and hinder our work by praying to their "gods." This kind of activity is increasing today and will continue to do so as we draw closer to the time of Jesus' return. Many Christians shy away from acknowledging this fact but seasoned intercessors are well aware of how imperative prayer and fasting are to any church or ministry who exposes demonic bondage's in an effort to see captives set free.

With that said, I treasure the fact that so many of you do indeed pray for us. Don't Stop! Please pray for protection, provision and especially for the anointing of God on us as we go. Also pray specifically that not a single person who God has designed to be in any meeting we hold is in any way hindered by the powers of darkness from both attending and then receiving what God has for them. It may sound simplistic but just plain keeping people away from particular churches and meetings where Satan's lies are being exposed and his strongholds weakened is without question one of the primary strategies of the enemy today. As the saints pray specifically about this the lost are saved, the Church is changed and the demonic is brought down! Here again is a link to my itinerary. As we go, your specific and timely prayers do make a difference!

In this update I'm starting an important series called "The REAL Purpose of the Church." (See below) In the coming newsletters I'll be alternating this series of articles with chapters from my book Disarming the Powers of Darkness as well as the occasional single article as well.

I'm home tonight overnight and then we head into the snow tomorrow as I cross the Cascade Mountains for ministry meetings in Eastern Washington this week.

The REAL Purpose of the Church

Have you ever read a biblical passage over and over again and then suddenly, inexplicably after reading, studying and allowing it to sink in something about it just leaps off of the page? It is a wonderful God-led event when revelation pours out of the Word of God and soars down into your spirit with fresh insight that seemingly wasn’t available to you before. If you’ve been a Christian for very long then you have probably had this experience. A couple of years back this happened to me when a dear brother and fellow minister, Dale Whitt was speaking one morning at our home church just outside Dallas. Intensifying the significance of this experience is the fact that due to the traveling ministry Jesus has placed me in I only have opportunity to sit under someone else’s teaching a few Sunday’s a year, yet God saw to it that I was there as a congregant on that particular day. I have no idea if anyone else was affected as I was by Dale’s message that morning. However, it made an impact on me that is now shaping some of my own ministry for the Lord many months later.
